New Home – Exterior Paint Mock-Ups

10/22/2012

Because things aren’t moving fast enough (that’s a joke!) I decided to take some of my photos of the house with siding and add our paint colors in Photoshop to see how they look. The house process has been flying lately at the house so it’s possible that by the time this post goes live, the painters will actually be painting the exterior…but anyway…if I’m going to waste my time daydreaming, I might as well waste yours too:

(The battens weren’t all up yet when I took the picture below, but close enough.)

Use your imagination here. Our garage door will not be translucent. It is coming soon, though. Hopefully the rest of the driveway (and back patio) concrete is coming soon, too.

OK, now this one got me really excited. Our front door area has been a mess since the beginning of construction and I never like how it looks in photographs. Now I can really start to visualize how lovely this courtyard entrance could be…

My landscape expert husband Jason will be planning out this courtyard with what areas will have planters, paver stones, gravel, potted plants, etc. All I know is that our OTP orange metal chairs will be resting here. Probably. So the birds have somewhere to perch while they watch us eat breakfast.

Help Us Pick a Paint Color for this Brick Ranch

07/18/2012

Our good friend and real estate guru, Jeremy Hundley, is in the middle of remodeling a sweet brick ranch our here in East Nashville. It’s getting a complete makeover inside and out and will be for sale in the next couple of months. Jeremy asked me to mock up some paint color ideas for the exterior of the house, which is currently an ugly peach-colored brick. I went a little crazy and came up with way too many choices. (I had a hard time choosing the top 6 to post here!)

Can you help us narrow it down? What is your favorite color combination?

Don’t get hung up on the front door design. It’s solid now…I was just experimenting with options. Also, it looks a bit naked without any landscaping. That will be remedied after it’s painted. Please choose your favorite overall combination in the poll below, but feel free to get specific in the comment section.

Thank you so much for your help!

Paint Decisions

02/10/2010

We’re considering a few paint choices for the bathroom walls, each in the pale greenish bluish gray range. I saved this photo a while back because I thought Sherwin Williams Window Pane would be perfect with our teal blue and green shower tiles.

(sorry I can’t recall the source.)

But, it’s too light & bright:

Here’s Contented (below):

Rainwashed: (Fitting name.)

And our current top choice, Sea Salt:

Sea Salt actually looks—on the chip and in the above photoshop mock-up—like Window Pane in my inspiration photo, don’t you think?

(Sidenote: I think Sherwin Williams has the best colors. They also have a very cool, interactive Color Visualizer on their website. And they just opened a new store in our neighborhood. Yay!)

Which color do you think works best with our tile?
