I just now learned this- keeping apples next to bananas makes the bananas ripen faster. So that’s good if the bananas are too green, but can cause them to go brown faster than you want otherwise. Of course, then you get to make banana bread, and that is not a bad thing. But if you want fresh bananas, it really makes a difference to keep them in different bowls. Anyhow, this information improved my life, so I am passing it on to you.
I’m pretty sure hanging bananas is the best way to keep them from ripening too quickly so they get a lot if air circulation. I’m not too concerned about it because I like ripe bananas and I LOVE banana bread. 🙂
